The Benefits of Exercise

People very often talk about being fit……….. But fit for what? The answer is, fit for life……….Your life.

If you exercise regularly, there is proof that you will feel better, look better and even slow down the aging process. How many exercise teachers do you see looking tired and run down? They all look vibrant and healthy no matter what their age.

Your motivation to exercise may be to achieve a trimmer figure or to just feel better about your self and to have more energy to cope with today’s stresses of life. The form of exercise you choose must be enjoyable. If you really hate jogging for instance then don’t do it. Find an alternative. Once you have found an exercise that you enjoy then you are more likely to stick to it. Fitness cannot be stored…

But once gained, it is easier to maintain. Therefore, it is important to make a commitment to include exercise into your lifestyle. The experts say you should train 3 to 4 times per week for at least 30 minutes to maintain your fitness level but this should increase to 40 minutes to achieve a higher level of fitness. Working for 3 hours will not have the same effect as 3x1 hour sessions spread out over a week.

Being fit and healthy doesn’t mean only exercise. You need to pay attention to other areas of your lifestyle such as smoking, diet, alcohol intake and stress. A bad lifestyle linked with a sedentary lifestyle is more likely to lead to heart disease (Britain’s biggest killer) and also obesity (1 in 12 men and 1 in 8 women are obese in the UK). Life is not a rehearsal so take advantage of yours while you have the chance.

What can Personal Training do for you?

After finding out about you; your likes, dislikes, strengths, weaknesses, aims and objectives, I will assess your current level of fitness and suggest the best way of achieving your goals. I will plan a fitness programme to meet your particular needs and requirements.

Is there a typical session?

No! Not really because everything will revolve around you. This could involve anything from jogging, swimming, weight training, core stability or circuit training in the park. The weather, the time available and your current requirements affect the type of session taken.

The benefits of having your own Personal Trainer.

Having your own personal trainer ensures you are doing the correct exercise in a safe and effective way. I will also give you encouragement and motivation to complete your workout whilst enjoying it.

A personal trainer can exercise with you at a time that is convenient to suit your lifestyle weather it be early morning, lunch time or evening.

After a hard days work, when motivation is low, your personal trainer will supply you with the added incentive to get up and exercise, instead of being a couch potato in front of the TV.
